Helping Local Food Businesses Grow

The SoKY Marketplace Community Kitchen is located on the second floor of The Historic Venue on 7th and houses a commercial kitchen available to culinary entrepreneurs, farmers creating value-added products, caterers, and other food businesses. Interested vendors can apply to be a renter at the Community Kitchen by contacting the Director and filling out this application and sending it to sokymarketplace@gmail.com. The rental fee for the kitchen is $20/hour.

Available equipment includes a 40-gallon tilting kettle, a 60-quart planetary mixer and a 20-quart planetary mixer, a food dehydrator, a six open-burner gas range, a Southbend Bronze Convection oven, a three-compartment sink, several stainless steel working areas, a mirrored demonstration table, and dry and refrigerated rentable storage areas.  The majority of the equipment in the commercial kitchen was purchased through a cost-share grant from the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund. The state-of-the-art custom hood was donated by Halton.

Rates

Our base rate for rental is $20 per hour.

Culinary Incubator

The SoKY Marketplace also operates a culinary incubator, serving as a catalyst tool to aid new food businesses and our existing farm members with services to help them grow.  Our incubator services will launch early in 2019. If you are interested in taking part of these services or offering your skill-set to become a contributor, please email sokymarketplace@gmail.com.
